Cougar Mountain 9 is really good accounting software, but the biggest downside is its very hefty pricetag. This software will set you back over a thousand dollars and doesn’t come with all the common accounting sections such as job costing, payroll and purchase orders. These features, however, can be downloaded at an extra cost. Aside from the cost and payable features, Cougar Mountain 9 includes basic accounting software sections such as inventory, accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Cougar Mountain’s Accounts Receivable is lacking in some features as you cannot email invoices or estimate shipping costs. What’s good about is is that you can print shipping labels and there’s ample Accounts Receivable reports available to be used. Other advantages arethe ability to track the shipping and customizing invoices. In the Account Payable section, the user can pay or print bills and manage information of vendors
Its other features are also quite good like the Inventory section in which you can attach photos for every item. The General Ledger section is excellent. In here a user can make entries, manage accounts or choose from different Ledger Reports.
In summary, Cougar Mountain is an average accounting program for micro businesses. But for what its worth, there are other products that may give better value for your money. Requiring customers to purchase important features such as Payroll is inconvenient for many small business owners and users.
